In the mid-20th century, fashion was more prevalent in Asia than in Europe, but the Pacific Island nations of Kiribati, Vanuatu, Tonga and Palau all had their own unique style.
And that style changed when the first women’s shops opened on these islands.
These shops helped to redefine the fashion of the Pacific islands, and they were quickly followed by the rise of the first couture factories in the region.
Now, women are beginning to dress the way they wanted to dress and it’s starting to make a difference to the way people look at them.
